Recess – Powered by the Generational Health Initiative

As part of our Generational Health Initiative, we organize Recess—a free community activity designed to get kids outside, moving, and having fun.

Every week, we connect with a group of local parents and, when weather and schedules allow, we meet on Sundays at 2 PM at the Belleair Rec Center. Volunteer adults help organize and guide activities, while still encouraging free play and creativity among the kids.

Our goal is simple: create a safe, supervised environment where children can enjoy unstructured movement, build social skills, and develop a love for physical activity—all while giving families a chance to connect and unwind.

It’s a throwback to simpler times, where recess wasn’t just a break—it was essential for healthy development.

Recess – Powered by the Generational Health Initiative

Recess is our free, volunteer-led Sunday afternoon event designed to get kids outside, moving, and socializing in a safe and supportive environment. Hosted at Belleair Rec Center, this weekly meetup gives children the space to run, play, explore, and build friendships—just like the classic recess we grew up with.

Water Break – More Than Just a Snack Time

Halfway through Recess, we pause for a 15-minute break where kids grab water and a snack and gather together for a short, age-appropriate devotional. Led by an adult, this quiet time helps the kids reflect, reset, and connect on a deeper level—building not just strong bodies, but strong character too.

Why It Matters

Recess supports:
· Physical health through movement and outdoor activity
· Social development through free play and teamwork
· Emotional and spiritual growth through reflection and encouragement during Water Break

It’s not just a break from routine—it’s a foundation for Generational Health.
